Power Outages Reported in Walesburg

Grover Electric reports there are nearly 50,000 customers in Walesburg without power as of this morning. Grover Electric President Jade Gondola said, “Our crews are currently investigating the outage and will be working non-stop to restore electricity as soon as possible. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.” The current outages are a mystery at the moment. The blizzard advisory has been cancelled. Tree limbs are free of ice and heavy snow as temperatures dropped below freezing before the heavy precipitation began to fall. While high winds were in the forecast, their velocity peaked at gusts of 25 miles per hour, below the threshold of 35 miles per hour for blizzard conditions. There is a significant amount of snow on the ground but no obvious reason for a widespread power outage.

At the time of this reporting, Reunion and Centralis neighborhoods had not experienced any power outages.
